Musikalischer Dramatiker
Der Berlioz-Zyklus von Valery Gergiev und dem London Symphony Orchestra geht weiter und stellt diesmal zwei weniger bekannte Werke des großen Franzosen vor. Begegnet man Harold en Italie (mit Antoine Tamestit als Solist!) zumindest gelegentlich im Konzertsaal und auf Tonträger, so ist die dramatische Kantate La Mort de Cléopâtre eine echte Rarität. Auch hier ist Berlioz ganz leidenschaftlicher Romantiker, vor allem aber begnadeter musikalischer Dramatiker.
