Giselle ist das bekannteste Ballett des Komponisten Adolphe Adam und einer der absoluten Hits der gesamten Ballettliteratur. Das Stück zählt zu den Alltime Classics und gehört ins Repertoire einer jeden Balletttruppe rund um den Globus.

Die Fassung, die wir vom renommierten Royal Ballet aus London zu sehen bekommen, beruht auf Marius Petipas letzter Petersburger Fassung von 1887, welche die wohl bekannteste Inszenierung dieses Ballettklassikers darstellt.
