Der Zyklus ist vollständig. Järvis Mahler ist komplett. Selten hat Mahler so schlank und luzid geklungen, so unprätentiös, so natürlich und so frisch. Järvi ist mit seinem Mahler-Zyklus ein veritabler Geniestreich gelungen, der mit zur Speerspitze der bisherigen Mahler-Diskografie gehört.
Das zeigt sich erneut auf dem nunmehr letzten Teil der Reihe, wo es mit der diffizilen Sinfonie Nr. 9 und dem Adagio aus der unvollendet gebliebenen Sinfonie Nr. 10 zwei Hochkaräter zu hören und zu sehen gibt, die als der kompositorische Höhepunkt Mahlers betrachtet werden und gleichzeitig als Aufbruch in die musikalische Moderne.
