Meine weltweiten Konzertreisen haben mich immer wieder nach Südamerika geführt und ich habe diesen Kontinent dadurch in vielen Facetten kennen-, schätzen- und liebengelernt.

Hatte ich durch meine argentinischen Lehrer in der Jugend bereits einen Bezug zu Ginastera, der mich von Anfang an faszinierte, so erschloss sich mir Villa-Lobos erst durch meine besondere Liebe zu Brasilien. Die Faszination für die kompromisslose, im Gegensatz zu Ginastera völlig unakademische Kompositionsweise, begann auf besondere Weise, mich in ihren Bann zu ziehen.

Dieses Album vereint eruptive Wildheit und filigrane Zartheit dieser stark folkloristisch-rhythmisch geprägten Musik zu ausgelassener Lebensfreude, die ich damit in die Welt tragen möchte! Andreas Woyke
