Seine Aktivitäten als Solist wie auch als Lehrer waren bestimmend für die letzten Jahre Schiølers von 1950 bis zu seinem Tod 1967. Eines seiner bevorzugten Medien war das Fernsehen. Das war damals noch neu; in Dänemark konnte man nur ein Programm empfangen. Und das nur einige Stunden täglich. Aber der Pianist erkannte die Chance, sich hier an ein großes Publikum zu wenden. Er trug nicht nur ihm wichtige Werke vor, sondern lieferte dazu auch eloquente Werkeinführungen. Diese Folge der Schiøler-Retrospektive bringt Beispiele aus diesen Fernsehsendungen.
