Das Album ist Teil des Projekts Oratio Dominica - Complete Works by Cyprian Bazylik and Roots of the Evangelical Hymnody. Der Komponist aus dem 16. Jahrhundert wurde in Sieradz geboren, einem wichtigen Handels- und Kulturzentrum jener Zeit. Da er in der Hofkapelle des Herzogs Mikolaj Radziwill in Vilnius angestellt war, komponierte er nur für eine kurze Zeit seines Lebens. Ein Dutzend Lieder und mehrere Psalmen sind erhalten geblieben, die auf diesem Album enthalten sind. Die Musik, die von der Vokalgruppe Ensemble Jerycho meisterhaft dargeboten wird, ist größtenteils eine Originalbearbeitung des Musikwissenschaftlers und Organisten Bartosz Izbicki - Stimmen und neue Harmonien wurden hinzugefügt, manchmal wurden rhythmische Formeln verändert. Die Vokalisten werden von einem Ensemble unterstützt, das aus Virtuosen der Renaissance-Instrumente besteht. Dadurch unterscheiden sich die dargebotenen Stücke erheblich in Charakter und Stimmung, und die Musik von vor mehr als vier Jahrhunderten klingt überraschend frisch und dynamisch.
