Jesuit, Missionar und Tastenvirtuose: Zipolis vollständiges Werk für Orgel und Cembalo
Den Italiener Domenico Zipoli verschlug es als Missionar bis nach Südamerika, wo seine späten geistlichen Werke große Verbreitung fanden. Seine "Sonate d’Intavolatura" für Orgel und Cembalo erschienen bereits 1716, noch in Italien. Mit ihnen stellte er sich in die Tradition Frescobaldis, Alessandro Scarlattis und Pasquinis. Die Sammlung bildet den Grundstock für die Gesamteinspielung seines Œuvres für Tasteninstrumente, die der Organist Carlo Guandalino und die Cembalistin Laura Farabollini nun vorlegen. Die beiden erweisen sich als ausgewiesene Experten für die erstaunlich einfühlsame und ausdrucksstarke Musik Zipolis.
