The Blu-ray Audio Disc (also Pure Audio Blu-ray) is technically a normal Blu-ray Disc and can be played on any Blu-ray player. However, it does not contain any video content. The high storage capacity is used for high-resolution audio data (stereo and surround, up to 24 bit/192 kHz). It is operated either without a screen like a conventional CD or via the onscreen menu like a normal Blu-ray disc.

Der britische Cellist Rohan de Saram, Sohn Sri Lankakischer Einwanderer, begann sein Cellostudium bei Gaspar Cassadó in Siena und Florenz, später studierte er bei John Barbirolli und Pablo Casals. Als Solist trat er unter quasi allen führenden britischen Dirigenten weltweit auf. Außerdem war er von 1979 bis November 2005 Mitglied des Arditti-Quartetts, eines der angesehensten britischen Streichquartette.

Für das audiophile Label Claudio hat er nun Bachs Cellosuiten aufgenommen. Insgesamt sieben Jahre, zwischen 2009 und 2016 hat er sich für die Aufnahmen Zeit genommen, die in der einzigartigen Akustik der Bartholomäus-Kirche in Brighton entstanden. Das Album erscheint sowohl als 3-CD-Box als auch als Blu-ray Audio.
