Die 24 Préludes von Chopin gehen im Gegensatz zu denen von Bach weder einer Fuge noch einem Choral voraus. Die Bezeichnung unterstreicht die Bescheidenheit dieser kurzen, einfach gestalteten Stücke, die allerdings ein sorgfältig geordnetes Ganzes bilden, das nach dem Quintenzirkel die 24 Dur- und Molltonarten durchläuft. Nach seiner brillanten Aufnahme der Balladen und Scherzi (2021) setzt Abdel Rahman El Bacha seine virtuose Interpretation von Chopins Werk mit diesen Préludes fort.
