Jean Doyen (1907-1982), u. a. Schüler von Marguerite Long, war einer der am längsten lehrenden Klavierprofessoren am Pariser Conservatoire. Seine Pianistenkarriere blieb hauptsächlich auf Frankreich begrenzt, nicht zuletzt, weil er sich auf französisches Repertoire konzentrierte. Gleichwohl sind die hier erstmals wiederveröffentlichten Aufnahmen unschätzbare Kostbarkeiten der französischen Klavierschule.
