Fast nichts ist über Leben und Werk der Barockkomponistin Camilla de Rossi (ca. 1670-ca. 1710) bekannt. Immerhin schuf sie zwischen 1707 und 1710 für den kaiserlichen Hof in Wien vier geistliche Oratorien. Mit »Sant‘ Alessio« stellt Daniela Dolci mit ihrem bewährten Ensemble Musica Fiorita hier das zuletzt entstandene vor. In ihm offenbart sich eine souveräne barocke Meisterkomponistin auf der Höhe ihrer Zeit.
