The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Der Bratsche wurde erst im 20. Jahrhundert mit gleichermaßen virtuoser wie musikalisch anspruchsvoller konzertanter Sololiteratur Genüge getan. Neben den bekannten Werken von Paul Hindemith und Bohuslav Martinů fand das wunderbare Konzert von William Walton verdientermaßen Eingang in das Repertoire der führenden Konzertsolisten (es wurde übrigens 1929 von keinem Geringeren als Hindemith uraufgeführt). Der Geiger James Ehnes erweist sich hier als nicht minder virtuoser Bratscher und lässt die Einspielung zu einem Höhepunkt in der erfolgreichen Walton-Reihe mit Edward Gardner und dem BBC Symphony Orchestra auf dem CHANDOS-Label werden.
