Die Exon Singers feierten 2016 ihr 50-jähriges Jubiläum. Der Tag, an dem der Chor gegründet wurde, wird für die Fans der englischen Fußballmannschaft eine besondere Erinnerung haben – der 30. Juli 1966!
Die vielen Fans der Exon Singers hatten in den vergangenen Jahren zweifellos eine angenehmere Zeit als diejenigen, die unsere Fußballnationalmannschaft unterstützen – der Chor führt nicht nur regelmäßig die großen Chorwerke von Tallis, Byrd, Victoria, Pergolesi und Werke wie das Requiem von Brahms auf Sie haben beträchtliche Anerkennung für ihr Engagement erhalten, neue Werke bei einigen der aufregendsten Komponisten der Gegenwart in Auftrag zu geben – Brian Chapple, Gary Davison, Joseph Phibbs, Richard Allain, David Briggs, Grayston Ives, Francis Jackson, Gabriel Jackson, Howard Skempton, Philip Moore , Philip Wilby, Matthew Martin und Robin Holloway.
Um das 50-jährige Bestehen des Chors und sein 50. Festival zu feiern, haben sie eine neue CD mit Musik aufgenommen, die sie für das Choral Evening Prayer in Auftrag gegeben haben; »Vor dem Ende des Tages«.
