The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Rued Langgaard (1893-1952) war eine seltsame und einsame Figur in der dänischen Musik. Seine 16 Sinfonien stellen einen nachdenklich stimmenden, originellen Beitrag zur Geschichte der Gattung dar.
Die beiden Sinfonien auf dieser CD strahlen eine jugendliche Frische und Kühnheit sowie eine ansteckende Freude an der Musik aus. Der sehr junge Langgaard scheute sich nicht, sich direkt auf Vorbilder wie Beethoven, Wagner und Richard Strauss zu beziehen, aber auch sein irrationaler Charakter wird nicht verleugnet.
Die Sinfonie Nr. 2 mit Sopransolo wird hier zum ersten Mal in der langen Originalfassung präsentiert. Die Sinfonie Nr. 3 ist ein reguläres klassisch-romantisches Klavierkonzert - mit einem chorischen Zwischenspiel.
