FonoForum 01/09: "Rudolf Buchbinders Salzburger Klavierabend von 2004 macht erneut deutlich, wie viel von den alten Tugenden der "sachlichen Werktreue" der heute 62-Jährige bewahrt: Die konzentrierte, umrissscharfe und tempokonstante Textobservanz seines Spiels lässt fast vergessen, mit welcher Überlegenheit er das Klavier behandelt - das "Presto possibile" der neunten Schumann-Etüde zum Beispiel hält Buchbinder in einem schier unmöglich schnellen Tempo durch."
