FonoForum 09/11: "Stellenweise wird hier sehr gearbeitet, wie etwa das an zweiter Stelle stehende Presto zeigt - Tönchen wie Splitter, eine Art Glasperlenspiel. Das Andante lässt in der Art der Instrumentierung ansatzweise die spätere Strauss'sche Klangsprache erahnen. Die geschwungenen Bögen nehmen die fünf Instrumentalisten sehr ernst, sie singen sie genüsslich aus, ohne dabei ins Zuckrige zu verfallen."
