Freunde großer Spätromantik dürften sich über die 30 CDs umfassende Box mit den EMI-Einspielungen der Werke von Ralph Vaughan Williams freuen. Der englische Komponist, der vor 50 Jahren starb, ist zwar wegen einiger seiner neun Sinfonien, der Violinromanze »The Lark Ascending« oder der »Tallis Fantasie« mittlerweile auch in Deutschland bekannt, doch die in der Collector’s Edition vereinten Aufnahmen umfassen sämtliche Gattungen seines gewaltigen Œuvres und waren zum Großteil bisher nicht auf dem deutschen Markt zu haben.
