Nüchtern betrachtet ist ein Ostinato lediglich die fortwährende Wiederholung einer in der Regel simplen rhythmischen, melodischen oder harmonischen Formel und damit das Rückgrat von allen Chaconnen, Passacaglien oder auch von Ravels Bolero. Doch welch eine Faszination geht davon aus! Für das Portrait des französischen Ensembles Le Poème Harmonique wurden aus dessen Aufnahmen die schönsten Ostinatosätze zusammengestellt.
