Feurig wie der Name des Gran Teatro La Fenice war auch das Neujahrskonzert 2012. Im so genannten Phönix konnten die Zuschauer Spitzensänger wie Alex Esposito, Walter Fraccaro und Jessica Pratti erleben.
Die allseits beliebten und bekannten Stücke aus den Werken La Traviata, Don Giovanni und Tosca von Verdi, Mozart sowie Puccini waren wieder einmal die Garanten für das Höherschlagen jedes Zuschauerherzens.
Daneben standen in diesem Jahr auch selten gespielten Stücke wie Il gattopardo von Nino Rota oder Cavalleria rusticana von Pietro Mascagni auf dem Spielplan. Ein erstklassiges Opern-Potpourri unter der Leitung von Diego Matheuz.
