FonoForum 06/11: "Sein Bach klingt konventionell, unter einem großen Spannungsbogen klangvoll dahinströmend. Perenyi sucht keine Extreme, weder in den Affekten noch in den Tempi, alles wirkt natürlich und stets beseelt. Benjamin Brittens Cellosonate bildet dazu den lebhaften "modernen" Kontrast. Im Finale geht Perenyi dann aus sich heraus, explodiert förmlich, und führt den Satz an der Seite des beherzt mitgehenden Denes Varjon zu einem furiosen Ende. In Brahms' zweiter Cellosonate lodert leidenschaftliches Feuer auf der Oberfläche eines stets kultivierten Klanges. Zum Schluss sagt Perenyi mit verhaltener Stimme noch die Zugabe an: den langsamen Satz aus der Cellosonate von Chopin. Zum Träumen...
