Multitalent Michel Legrand ist Komponist, Pianist, Sänger und Arrangeur. Sein musikalisches Schaffen ist vielseitig und reicht vom französischen Chanson über Jazzmusik, klassische Musik bis hin zur Filmmusik. Seit 1955 hat er über 200 Filmmusiken geschrieben.
„Die Melodie ist die Herrin der Musik“, betont Michel Legrand immer wieder. Begleitet vom Orchestre National d’Île de France, stellt er das beim Konzert in Paris 2009 unter Beweis und präsentiert dem Publikum seine schönsten Filmmusiken im symphonischen Gewand.
Mit dem Gaststar Mario Pelchat aus Québec und unter Mitwirkung großer Namen des französischen Chansons wie Maurane, Liane Foly, Patrick Fiori oder Hélène Segara begibt er sich durch fünfzig Jahre Kino à la Legrand oder „legrandish cinema“ (wie der Amerikaner sagt).
