The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

AEOLUS präsentiert die zweite Folge der Louis-Couperin-Edition mit Bob van Asperen, deren großes Verdienst es u. a. ist, ausschließlich noch spielbare historische Originale zu verwenden. Für die Aufnahme wurde diesmal das wunderbare, im Londoner Victoria & Albert Museum befindliche Vaudry-Cembalo von 1681 ausgewählt. Es ist übrigens das einzige derzeit erhältliche Tondokument dieses berühmten Instrumentes. Die CD trägt den Titel »Passacaille de Mr Couperin« und verweist dabei auf den Genre-Typus der Passacaille, die zusammen mit ihrer Schwester, der Chaconne, für Louis Couperin und die französische Cembalomusik des 17. Jahrhunderts besonders charakteristisch ist.
