To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Die Mutter der öffentlichen Konzerte
An offiziellen Fastentagen mussten in Frankreich wie überall im christlichen Europa Theater und Opernhäuser geschlossen bleiben. Das änderte freilich nichts am Unterhaltungsbedürfnis der guten Gesellschaft, und so fand im festlich dekorierten Saal der hundert Schweizergarden im Pariser Palais des Tuileries 1725 das erste Concert Spirituel statt. Trotz seines frommen Titels und der Verpflichtung, außer Instrumentalmusik nur Vokalwerke geistlichen Inhalts aufzuführen, wurde diese Veranstaltung zum richtungsweisenden Schritt in das öffentliche Konzertleben in Europa.
