In der Welt des Französischen Horns sind die Brüder Zdenek und Bedrick Tylsar für ihre außerordentliche künstlerische Qualität bekannt. Die vorliegende Doppel-CD bringt Aufnahmen der beiden Hornisten aus den Jahren 1975 bis 1987. Zu hören ist Repertoire für 2 Hörner und Orchester aus der zweiten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts – in der Hauptsache von böhmischen Komponisten wie Josef und Anton Reicha, Frantisek Antonin Rössler (Antonio Rosetti), Frantisek Xaver Pokorny und Josef Fiala. Mit einer äußerst seltenen Besetzung kann Josef Hanisch, ein brillanter Hornist aus dem Prag des späten 18. Jahrhunderts, aufwarten: Er schrieb ein Konzert für 3 Hörner und Orchester! Abgerundet wird das Programm durch Beethovens Sextett op. 81b, in dem die Tyslar-Brüder ihr Können als Kammermusiker unter Beweis stellen.

In the French horn world, the names of brothers Zdenek (d. August 18, 2006) and Bedrich Tylsar, former soloists of the Czech Philharmonic, are a mark of excellent artistic performance. On this double album the Tylsars perform these freshly released recordings of double French horn concertos of the second half of the 18th century. The anthology is rounded out by the inclusion of the unique triple Concerto by Hanisch, a brilliant hornist who was active in the late 18th century in Prague and in Germany (little else of his life is known). Beethoven's Sextet also showcases the Tylsar brothers as outstanding chamber players.
