Hochemotional
Leon Berben legt hier eine zutiefst persönliche Interpretation von Bachs Meisterwerk vor. Berbens Sicht der Dinge ist dabei einerseits geprägt durch eine absolute Texttreue, andererseits aber auch durch eine ausgesprochen luzide Spielfreude. Berben macht hier ganz deutlich, dass für ihn das Werk keinesfalls bloße Spekulation ist, sondern lebendige, ja sogar hochemotionale Musik. Auch bei der Wahl des Instruments für seine Einspielung überließ Berben nichts dem Zufall, die 1744 erbaute Wagner-Orgel in Angermünde eignet sich nämlich bestens, Bachs kunstvolle Kontrapunktik darzustellen.
