Spannende Klangerfahrung

Selbst im Bereich des barocken Standardrepertoires gibt es noch Entdeckungen zu machen. Für seine Aufnahme der Cembalokonzerte von Johann Sebastian Bach verwendet Aapo Häkkinen ein 16-Fuß-Cembalo, also ein Instrument mit einem zusätzlichen, besonders tief und kräftig klingenden Register. Obwohl Bach selbst ein solches Instrument besessen und eingesetzt hat, ist dies tatsächlich die erste (!) Aufnahme, die die Konzerte mit einem solchen Instrument in historischer Bauweise einspielt. Eine spannende Klangerfahrung, die sich übrigens auch im Italienischen Konzert BWV 971 auszahlt.

Gut, aber nicht Spitze

Eine gute und ausgewogene Aufnahme, aber auch ein gutes Beispiel dafür, dass allein akzentuiertes Spielen alter Musik nicht zur Spitzenklasse reicht. Es fehlt an Spielfreude und Ausdrucksstärke im Vergleich zu Ottavio Dantone oder Gustav Leonhardt mit dem jeweiligen Ensemble. Eben gut, aber nicht Spitze.
