Die Ausgewogenheit zwischen den Streichern und Holzbläsern zum Beispiel, was nicht selbstverständlich ist angesichts des keineswegs schmal besetzten Orchesters, sowie die rhythmische Klarheit, etwa in der Andante- Einleitung mit den synkopierten Oboen, Klarinetten und Fagotten."

Gelungener Schubert aus Bamberg

Nott nutzt für seine Interpretation die Neue Schubert-Gesamtausgabe und hält ein mittleres Termpo ein. Es gelingt ihm eine gute Durchhörbarkeit der Sinfonie - Nebenstimmen arbeitet er gut heraus; manchmal wünscht man sich, gerade im dritten Satz, etwas mehr "Drive" - man vergleiche dazu beispielsweise die Aufnahme mit Levine und dem Chicago-Symphony-Orchestra (DG). Die Bamberger spielen mit warmen Ton und bringen eine durchweg gute Orchesterleistung, insbesondere die Bläser. Der Klangbild der Aufnahme ist m.E. gut bis sehr gut. Eine absolut empfehlenswerte Produktion.
