Dieses Album beschäftigt sich mit musikalischer Freiheit. Eine kreative Freiheit, welche die englischen Komponisten und Musiker während einer langen und kreativen Periode an den Höfen von Heinrich VIII., der 1509 den Thron bestieg, bis hinzu Charles I., der 1649 hingerichtet wurde, zu nutzen verstanden. Innerhalb der Gattung Fantasia suchten Komponisten wie William Lawes, John Coprario oder Christopher Simpson die äußerste musikalische Freiheit, während die Division selbige den Interpreten bot. Die niederländische Blockflötistin Saskia Coolen hat zusammen mit Rainer Zipperling (Viola da gamba) und Patrick Ayrton (Cembalo & Orgel) eine kleine Auswahl dieser „freien“ Kompositionen, Fantasias ebenso wie Divisions, aus dieser Zeit eingespielt.
