Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Xenophylla is a genus of moths belonging to the subfamily Tortricinae of the family Tortricidae. A moth is an insect closely related to the butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera. Moths form the majority of this order; there are thought to be 150, 000 to 250, 000 different species of moth, with thousands of species yet to be described. Most species of moth are nocturnal, but there are crepuscular and diurnal species. Moths are not easily differentiated from butterflies. Sometimes the name "Heterocera" is used for moths while the term "Rhopalocera" is used for butterflies to formalize the popular distinction; these, however, have no taxonomic validity.
