Mit "Begierde" ("The Hunger") und "Wolfsblut" ("The Wolfen") gelang Whitley Strieber der ganz große Durchbruch als Horrorschriftsteller. Neben seinem Beruf als Autor moderiert er seine eigene Radiosendung "Dreamland". Whitley Strieber lebt mit seiner Frau in San Antonio, Texas.
