She is from Waterdown, Ontario. As a high school student, she studied many forms of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, and pointe. She also teaches dance classes to young children at her mother's dance studio. She was only eighteen years old when she represented Canada at the Miss Universe 2004 competition in Quito, Ecuador. She did not place in the finals.
