Klappentext
Soft and Roaring is a collection of poetry and prose. It is inspired by the self discovery that comes from heartbreak, loneliness, the beauty of aloneness, dating, and having the courage to walk paths that are true and wild. Most importantly, the collection ends with a body of work inspired by being brave enough to open our hearts to love over and over again, even when we are scared as hell. The collection of work is split into four parts- "Alone", "Alive", "Aching", and "Living With Our Hearts Wide Open." Alone is encouragement to surrender to the beauty and the wholeness that we already have deep inside of ourselves. It emphasizes the importance of our relationship to ourselves, and how our relationship with our own selves sets the tone for all of our other relationships. Alive is about having the courage to live a life off the beaten path. To live as fully as possible. Alive is about strangers that become family and coffee at midnight and solo road trips and praying to whatever we believe in on empty beaches and mountain tops. Aching is a section about the pain and messiness of dating / love, and the raw emotion that comes with it. It is about taking the pain we have experienced, holding it in our hands, and using it to propel us forward. Living With Our Hearts Wide Open is about opening ourselves up to love. Like the good kind of love- the love that has big enough hands to hold us. The love that moves mountains. It is about being scared, but taking the leap and loving anyways- because every step we took to get there was so, so, worth it.
