The story begins with Franca Albrecht, a young fashion student struggling to free herself from a destructive relationship with the charismatic yet controlling Ed Meyer. In parallel, we follow Ada Landau and Ben Adewale, a young couple taking their first apartment, stumbling into parenthood, and wrestling with the weight of structural inequality. Alongside them are Isi Sonntag, reinventing herself as a queer activist and content creator, and Chris Wolf, preparing to change both given name and legal gender marker - together forming the fragile, central constellation of the flat-share.
