Biografie (Jayadeva)
Der indisch-bengalische Dichter schrieb das erotisch-mystische Gedicht Gitagovinda . Er lebte im ausgehenden 12. Jahrhundert in Bengalen und wurde mit seinem Werk zu einem Klassiker der Sanskritdichtung. Er wurde verehrt als einer der Dichterheiligen, die im mittelalterlichen und frühneuzeitlichen Indien ihre Hingabe an die Gottheit (bhakti) in Lieder faßten.
