The Russian National Badminton Championships is a tournament organized to crown the best badminton players in Russia. The tournament started in 1992. The Russian Open in badminton is an international open held in Russia since 1993. This tournament is the continuation of the USSR International. In 2007 it became a BWF Grand Prix Gold. The BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix is a new, third level badminton tournament structure introduced by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is played in twelve countries (both event hold seven open tournaments respectively) a season. The tournament inclusive the continental championships such as Badminton Asia Championships, European Badminton Championships and Pan Am Badminton Championships.
