Biography
Richard Hughes wurde 1900 in Surrey, England, geboren. Seine frühe Kindheit wurde durch den Tod zweier Geschwister und des Vaters geprägt, die Mutter arbeitete nach dem Tod des Vaters als Journalistin. Nach dem ersten Weltkrieg ging Hughes nach Oxford, wo er zum Star der universitären Literaturszene avancierte. Bereits 1922 publizierte er einen Gedichtband. Eines seiner Theaterstücke wurde im gleichen Jahr im Londoner West End aufgeführt.Notes:
