Biografie
Rashida Coleman-Hale macht Dinge selbst, seit sie sich erinnern kann. Das Nähen erlernte sie von ihrer Mutter, ihrer Großmutter und vor allem von ihrem Großvater, einem Schneider. Sie studierte Modedesign am Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, arbeitete zunächst als freiberufliche Grafikdesignerin und kehrte 2006 nach der Geburt ihres ersten Kindes zurück an die Nähmaschine. Sie verbrachte einen Großteil ihrer Kindheit und Jugend in Tokyo, wo auch ihre Begeisterung für Leinen ihren Anfang nahm und sie zum ersten Mal mit Zakka Bekanntschaft machte. Ihre Arbeiten wurden bereits in den Zeitschriften Sew News, Stitch, Sew Hip!, ReadyMade, Burda Style und Quilting Arts vorgestellt sowie auf verschiedenen Blogs. Seit zwei Jahren ist sie Stoffdesignerin bei "Timeless Treasures" in Atlanta, wo sie mit ihrem Mann und ihren drei Kindern lebt und 2011 ihre erste Kollektion herausgab.
