Ragnar Bjerkreim (born 19 April 1958 in Bjerkreim) is Norwegian composer with film scores as his specialty. Bjerkreim has a masters degree in music from University of Oslo; his thesis was entitled "The Function of Film Music". He received his first success as a composer for the two Kamilla and the Thief movies. Bjerkreim is now one of the most productive composers in Norwegian television. He is also board chairman of the Norwegian Society of Composers and Lyricists. NOPA, the Norwegian Society of Composers and Lyricists is a trade union for creators of music and song lyrics in Norway. It was created in 1937 as Norske populærautorer. The name has later been changed to NOPA - Norsk forening for komponister og tekstforfattere. It is a daughter organization of TONO, and a sister of the Norwegian Society of Composers. Chief administrative officer is Lill Øyen, while the board of directors consists of Ragnar Bjerkreim, Kari Bremnes, Ingrid Kindem, Henning Kvitnes, Anniken Paulsen, Lars Martin Myhre and Bent Åserud.
