Poddbice County (Polish: powiat poddbicki) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in ód Voivodeship, central Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Poddbice, which lies 37 kilometres (23 mi) west of the regional capital ód. The only other town in the county is Uniejów, lying 14 km (9 mi) north-west of Poddbice. The county covers an area of 880.91 square kilometres (340.1 sq mi). As of 2006 its total population is 42, 195, out of which the population of Poddbice is 7, 875, that of Uniejów is 2, 916, and the rural population is 31, 404. ód Voivodeship is a province (voivodeship) in central Poland. It was created on 1 January 1999 out of the former ód Voivodeship (1975-1999) and the Sieradz, Piotrków Trybunalski and Skierniewice Voivodeships and part of Pock Voivodeship, pursuant to the Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998.
