Poböowice [pbwvits] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina mud, within Chem County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland. It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) north-west of mud, 17 km (11 mi) south-east of Chem, and 78 km (48 mi) east of the regional capital Lublin. Gmina mud is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Chem County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland. Its seat is the village of mud, which lies approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) south-east of Chem and 81 km (50 mi) east of the regional capital Lublin. The gmina covers an area of 135.83 square kilometres (52.4 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 3, 397. Chem County (Polish: powiat chemski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Lublin Voivodeship, eastern Poland, on the border with Ukraine. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat is the city of Chem, although the city is not part of the county (it constitutes a separate city county).
