Klappentext
This book provides in-depth insights into plasma-assisted nitrogen fixation, it covers advanced topics and emerging trends, making it a valuable resource for experts in these areas. It offers practical guidance on implementing plasma technology in nitrogen fixation, cost analysis, and case studies, making it relevant for engineers, plant managers, and decision-makers seeking to optimize their ammonia and NOx manufacturing processes. The book is split into six parts covering Fundamentals of Nitrogen Fixation; Plasma Technology and Plasma Reactors; Plasma-Assisted Nitrogen Fixation; Mechanisms of Nitrogen Fixation; Environmental and Economic Viability; and Advanced Processes of Nitrogen Fixation. The comprehensive structure provides readers with a thorough understanding of plasma-assisted nitrogen fixation, from the fundamental principles to practical applications and future prospects in the field.
Biografie (Volker Hessel)
Volker Hessel, born 1964, was appointed Vice Director R&D and Head of the Chemical Process Technology Department at the Institut für Mikrotechnik Mainz GmbH (IMM) in 2002. His department focuses on mixing, fine chemistry, and energy generation by fuel processing using microstructured reactors. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Mainz on organic chemistry in 1993, investigating structure-property relations of supramolecular structures. After having been appointed Group Leader for Microreaction Technology at the IMM in 1996, he became Head of the newly founded Department of Microreaction Technology in 1999. He is author of more than 90 peer-reviewed publications in the field of organic chemistry and chemical micro process engineering, 200 papers in total, 3 books and 15 patents.Biografie (Gabriele Centi)
Gabriele Centi is full professor of industrial chemistry at the University of Messina and a Past President of the European Federation of Catalysis Societies and Coordinator of the Network of Excellence IDECAT. He co-directs the European Laboratory for Catalysis and Surface Science. His research activities are centered in the area of development of industrial heterogeneous catalysts for applications in the field of sustainable chemical processes, and environmental protection and clean energy. He is author of over 230 scientific papers in international journals, editor and/or author of 6 books, editors of 6 special issues of international journals, chairman of several International congresses, and editor of the Elsevier book series "Studies in Catalysis and Surface Science". He also serves as member of panel committees of evaluation of various international institutes, and was visiting professor at various European Universities. He is a member of the Core Team which elaborates the European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry.
