Biography (Nikos Kazantzakis)

Nikos Kazantzakis wurde am 18. Februar 1883 inHeraklion geboren. Er studierte zunächst Jura in Athen, dann Staatswissenschaftn in Paris. Neben seiner Professur an der juristischen Fakultät von Athen überetzte er und schrieb Romane, darunter "Die letzte Versuchung" und "Griechische assion". Mit dem autobiographischen Roman "Alexis Sorbas", 1946 erschienen, erlngte er Weltruf. Kazantzakis starb am 26. Oktober 1957 in Freiburg.§
