Biography

Matthew Sweeney wurde 1952 in Donegal, Irland, geboren. Er ist einer der bedeutendsten irischen Lyriker, der in London und Freiburg studiert und sich intensiv mit deutscher Lyrik des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts beschäftigt hat. Er veröffentlichte zahlreiche Gedichtbände. Sweeney lebt in Berlin, Graz und Timisoara (Rumänien).
