Biografie
Lytton Strachey wurde 1880 in London geboren. Der Essayist und Biograph wurde berühmt durch seine Eminent Victorians, zu seiner Zeit die schärfste Abrechnung mit Kultur und Moral des viktorianischen Zeitalters. Er gehörte zu den frühesten Mitgliedern des Bloomsbury-Kreises um Virginia Woolf und John Maynard Keynes. Strachey starb 1932 in Hungerford, Berkshire.
