At least that's what the woman known as Viper believes. After being partially blinded by an Egyptian cobra, then losing both parents to suicide, Viper is determined to end the life of each person she deems responsible. Poetic justice comes in the form of cocktails whose key ingredient is reptilian venom.

As the body count rises, Sheriff Jay Rulog attempts to track Viper down, obsessed with stopping her reign of terror before he leaves office. Assisting him is Chief of Police Ted Mason, whose competence masks questionable motives and an underlying emotional instability.

Viper always remains one step ahead until a key insight enables Jay to start putting the pieces together. The elaborate trap he sets results in lethal counterattacks ... and an explosive revelation that nobody sees coming.
