Jeffrey Archer, geb. 1940 in London, wurde bereits mit 29 Jahren Abgeordneter im britischen Unterhaus. Hoch verschuldet musste er zurücktreten und schrieb den ersten seiner vielen internationalen Bestseller. 1992 wurde er in den Adelsstand erhoben, gehörte lange dem Oberhaus an und verbüßte eine zweijährige Haftstrafe wegen Meineids. Ronald Searle, geboren 1920 in Cambridge. Mit 15 Jahren Schulende und tätig als Bürobote. Kunstunterricht und Beginn mit Zeichnen, was er auch als Soldat im Zweiten Weltkrieg und als Gefangener der Japaner am River Kwai tat.
