It is therefore understandable that we have a strong urge to stay in the light. Might that be a mistake? Schould we stop to remain in the light, stop to seek knowledge no matter the cost? The twelve stories in this collection tell of the horrors hiding in the dark, and horrors revealed by light. It would be far more fitting to, instead of saying fear of the dark, speak of fear in the dark. For what we are afraid of is what we cannot comprehend. Yet the real fear will only be revealed if we stare into the horror, and it stares back. Under a lightless cover, there are some things that should remain unseen. Perhaps we should be more content in the dark, more content with the unknown.
