Christiane Lemke ist Professorin für Politische Wissenschaft an der Leibniz Universität Hannover mit dem Schwerpunkt Internationale Beziehungen und Europastudien. Christiane Lemke hat an der Freien Universität Berlin promoviert (1978) und sich dort im Fach Politische Wissenschaft habilitiert (1989). Sie war u. a. von 1988 bis 1991 DAAD-Professorin an der University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, von 1991 bis 1992 Visiting Krupp Chair an der Harvard University und im Frühjahr 2006 Distinguished Visiting Scholar an der Suffolk University in Boston. Darüber hinaus hat sie zahlreiche Gastvorträge an Universitäten in Oxford, Paris, Stockholm, Siena und Warschau gehalten. Von 2006 bis 2007 war sie Direktorin beim Niedersächsischen Landtag und damit eine der ersten Frauen in der Bundesrepublik in dieser hochrangigen Leitungsfunktion.
