Henry Walter Spaulding Iii: Redeeming Time Through Karl Barth and Pauline Apocalyptic Theology and Ethics, Gebunden

Klappentext

This sweeping book explores how Karl Barth's Christocentric theology of time and Pauline apocalyptic's eschatological framework provide a transformative response to modern anxieties about temporality, mortality, and ethics. By synthesizing Barth's covenantal theology and Pauline apocalyptic's rupture, Henry Walter Spaulding III reframes time as a sacred gift where divine eternity and human temporality intersect, addressing the alienation, moral paralysis, and acceleration of modern life.

Spaulding expertly bridges ancient and modern critiques of time, engaging figures such as Kant, Hegel, Marx, Herder, Troeltsch, Levinas, Heidegger, and Stephen Hawking. Through this interdisciplinary dialogue, it explores how time, redeemed through Christ, becomes the arena for ethical action and the restoration of meaningful temporality in an alienated world.

He ultimately reveals how time is not an oppressive force to escape or a commodity to optimize but a sacred arena for divine grace and human responsibility.
