Biography
Heinrich Heine, der als Vollender und Überwinder der Romantik gilt, wurde vermutlich am 13. Dezember 1797 als Sohn jüdischer Eltern in Düsseldorf geboren. Er studierte von 1819 bis 1825 Jura in Bonn, Berlin und Göttingen. Am 25. Juni 1825 wurde Heine, dessen Vorname Harry lautete, protestantisch getauft, und er nahm den Vornamen Heinrich an. 1831 siedelte er dauerhaft nach Paris über. Heine, der ab 1848 wegen Krankheit an die "Matratzengruft" gefesselt war, starb am 17. Februar 1856 in Paris.Notes:
